TOP SPEED = not build yet
INNOVOILE, a french association, was created in 1993 by young engineers.
Since the beginning, the aim has been to beat the speed sailing
world record. To go that quick, it's necessary to keep the boat out of the water.
But from a "finesse" point of view, the use of aircraft wings is better
than foils. So, to summarise, The Flying Duck uses hydrofoils for mid-speed
cruise and airfoils for high speed runs.
Furthermore, the Flying Duck uses a pyramidal double sail in order to decrease
the rolling momentum. It is therefore possible to increase the propulsion
power.
